{Spotlight Project} Shirley Creates a Fantasy Creature

Sometimes when I sit down to create my Spotlight Project, I don't have anything specific in mind, so I just get a few stamp sets out and wait for inspiration.  One of the sets was Folk Flowers, and inspiration came from the top right corner.
See the curly-wurly image?  A pig's snout.  The group of dots?  Nostrils.  (Bear with me, it is a fantasy creature!)  The small petal?  An ear.  The small stitched shape?  Eyes.  The large petal?  Body and wings.  The small stalk?  Legs.  So I just needed a head.  Enter, large flower bottom right.  And this is what happened.

Such a creature deserves the brightest feathers, so I coloured it with Distress inks.

Then I added some Zentangle-style doodles, following some of the natural colour breaks.
And a cheesy grin :)

I dotted some of the same colours around the edges of the base card, then trimmed down my panel to fit.

Mounted the panel onto the base card, and added the sentiment from Shery's new set which you'll see next week.  I finished off with a doodled border around the white panel.

I hope that's put a cheesy grin on your face, and that it's inspired you to look more closely at your stamps to see what else you can find in them.
