{Spotlight Project} Maria Spotlights Stencils For Easy Christmas Cards

So you had planned to make all your Christmas cards this year, but then didn't quite manage to get as many done as you need ... And now you're in need of an idea for a quick and easy Christmas card? Keep reading.

I've used a stencil for inking, a stencil for adding some texture paste and an easy heat-embossed sentiment to whip up this card. Waiting for the paste to dry was the hardest part ;)

STEP 1
Gathered my supplies - Christmas Trees stencil, embossing paste, spatula, Distress Inks and my sponge daubers. I taped down the card and stencil with painter's tape.

STEP 2
Sponged on Peeled Paint for the tree.

STEP 3
Wiped off the green ink from the stencil and sponged on gold pigment ink for the star...

STEP 4
... and Walnut Stain for the tree trunk.

STEP 5
Affixed falling snow stencil and applied texture paste. I first tried to use the gritty paste, but it didn't work with the small holes of the stencil.

STEP 6

But since I really wanted to use it, I applied some gritty paste along the bottom of my card like a snow bank. You could skip this and just add a piece of washi. Or use a stamped sentiment to ground the tree.

Here's my finished card again. I heat embossed the sentiment from Christmas Bells onto red CS and trimmed it before adhering it with foam adhesive. BTW - I made a chalkboard card with this stencilwhich you could also turn into a quick and easy make if you skipped the frame ...
